Sharing Data & Experiences

Share your GHG emissions data, calculations, experiences, baselines, and tracking. By sharing, the biosolids profession will improve understanding and consensus regarding best practices for GHG (carbon) accounting. This may lead to creating formal protocols for GHG emissions offsets and carbon trading.

Energy Performance and Carbon Emissions Assessment and Monitoring Tool (ECAM), 2021

When the ECAM model was created for estimating emissions from municipal water and wastewater services, BEAM v1.1 was relied on for default values and calculations of net GHG emissions from solids (sludge) management scenarios.

BEAM v1.1 and ECAM benefit from the independent development and reviews brought by the teams and perspectives of the two projects.

ECAM resources - including constants and equations - are available at http://www.wacclim.org/ecam/.
